The Koca Mustafa Paşa Complex Imaret
Koca Mustafa Pasha Mosque and Complex, which gave its name to this neighborhood of Walled Istanbul, is also known as Sünbül Efendi Complex. Located in the west of the city close to the land side walls, the mosque is surrounded by a wall and the buildings are located in a large courtyard.
The building, which was built as a church, was converted into a mosque during the 2nd Bayezid period after the conquest of Istanbul and has been used as a mosque until today.
In front of the back garden wall that borders the complex when we turn to the qibla; a soup kitchen project was prepared to be built with a light suture in the area between the hammam and the tekke rooms.
When the church was converted into a mosque, the same number of loaves of bread and meals were served every day according to the waqf. Today, in order to continue this endowment, it is aimed to serve and serve food to the needy people living in the neighborhood.
Different alternatives were designed with respect for the environment, the old artifacts and the condition of the buildings.
